Why Anonymous Voice?

Everyone has a voice. Some people simply can't express it out of fear or pride or insecurity. So we wear masks around the school - a jock, a gangster, a cheerleader, an emo. Who we are at school is a mere fragment of ourselves; shards of personality hiding behind who we are told by the media that we are supposed to be.

Sometimes, in being anonymous, we can be more ourselves than we could ever be at school. Sometimes the person we pretend to be in quad is just a shallow, empty version of who we are inside.

So if we are anonymous, it's because we want to be ourselves. But we don't want to be judged as the selves that we pretend to be. We want this newspaper to be our voice, loud and true. Yet, we want you to focus on the ideas and on the poetry and on the questions we have instead of on who you thought we were.
