Don't Be a Bully: A Rap

Billy Bob Blue Sock

We created "Don't Be a Buly" to have an enganging, honest reflection on bullying. The main character is somewhat of a nerdy guy, but he's go a sarcastic edge. He sets the tone with his subtle confidence. The skits are meant to add humor, but also to get students talking and thinking. Yet, toward the end, the issue of bullying becomes serious. Students see that it is not a "laughing matter." Although we were criticised a few times for using humor, it led to some great discussion and honest reflections. Students began to share their own experiences being bullied and it helped change our team climate away from bullying.
