Social Voice Theatre
Live theatre is one of the oldest forms of expression. In every culture, in every language, people have told powerful stories through acting. Multimedia Play
The eighth grade honors class is developing a play (during third quarter) about the borders that separate us in America. It is not simply a play about immigration or even a play about racism. It is a play about humanity and about what happens when we are forced to confront the prejudice in all of us.
It is our first of such endeavors. We really don't know what we are doing, but we will try our hardest to make this a top-knotch play. The students are beginning from the ground-up, with research and writing the script all the way up to costume and set design. Yet, we also intend to use multimedia elements - including music, sound and video. |
